Understanding Asperger's Syndrome
Asperger's Syndrome is a social spectrum disorder that is very similar to autism, yet it has features that distinguish it from autism and often make it difficult to diagnosis and treat. This seminar is for parents, teachers, school service workers, school social workers, speech and language therapists, and private clinicians. It will provide a practical overview of the most recent and central research findings inithe diagnosis and treatment of Asperger's Syndrome. Specific developments in neurobiological and clinical psychology are providing new insights into the understanding and treatment of this challanging population. You will learn medical, psychosocial and alternative treatment options in school and family interventions.
